About Me

Jared Neal was born in Kansas City, Missouri and grew up in Gastonia, North Carolina. He has been involved in the recording industry for 7 years. Jared attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Political Science. Initially Jared had aspirations of music and entertainment law, but he soon decided to pursue the more dynamic field of the recording arts. Consequently, while in college Jared also worked both as a resident disc jockey at a local night club, as well as at Soundz Creative Studios where he wrote and recorded songs for aspiring artists in the area.

Professional Experience

In 1996, Jared graduated from the Recording Workshop in Chillicothe, Ohio where he received a certificate in Audio Engineering. Soon thereafter, Jared relocated from North Carolina to Los Angeles, California to pursue a career in post-production. Jared's "foot in the door" in the post industry came by way of Hollywood Digital, where he had dubbing duties for shows such as "JAG", "Martial Law", and "The X-Files". In 1999 Jared came aboard Pacific Soundwaves, where he learned the craft of sound editing from owner Steve Clark, then worked on "Sabrina the Teenage Witch" as sound and dialog editor. Currently Jared continues to handle tasks at Pacific Soundwaves, including Sound Design, Dialog Editing, Foley, ADR, and voiceover records. Other credits include sound designing one of Sci-Fi Channel's acclaimed documentaries, "Return to Kecksburg - The UFO Files", color commentary recording for "Celebrity Poker Showdown", and sound/dialog editing for the CBS show "Baby Bob".

Resources

Jared has his own Pro Tools/Logic Suite as well, and has done freelance work on short films as both a Music Composer and Sound Designer. Jared's hobbies include watching, playing, and discussing sports, video gaming to no end, and being a closet computer geek.
